The branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Craobh Naomh Fiachra, was founded in Luxembourg in 1982, under the auspices of the Circle Culturel of the European Communities. It is a branch of the Irish Cultural Organisation Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. Our aim is to promote Irish culture through music, dancing and singing and to foster the Irish Language. We have a mixed membership of all nationalities. Some of our most excellent dancers, singers and musicians are Luxembourgish, American, British, Eastern European as well as Irish born and the Irish Diaspora.

Membership / Ballraíocht
All participants of classes are required to be members of the club of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann to be covered by insurance and also for security reasons in the European Foyer, the social centre of the European Institutions.
Membership fees, January – December, are as follows:
€40.00 for a single membership
€60.00 for a family membership
€100.00 ‘distance’ membership for clubs and associations.

One of the aims of Comhaltas is to foster The Irish language, so we are very happy to support and work with the Cumann Gaelach na Lucsambuirge. Irish language classes are held in association with Comhaltas in the European Foyer. Members of Comhaltas have free entry into these classes. *** Cumann Gaelach na Lucsambuirge was founded in 2005 to promote the use and study of Irish in the Grand Duchy and the surrounding region. Members of the Cumann meet on the first Tuesday of each month in the Oscar Wilde pub to play language games and discuss various topics through the medium of Irish. C.G.L. works in partnership with Comhaltas in the organization of Irish classes in the Foyer Européen, in the city centre.
